What does Northampton United Methodist Church believe about Communion?
We believe that Communion, also known as the Lord’s Supper, is a sacred act of worship where we remember Christ’s sacrifice, experience His presence, and receive His grace. The United Methodist Church practices an open table, which means all are welcome to participate, regardless of age, denomination, or church membership.
The bread and juice (non-alcoholic) represent the body and blood of Christ, symbolizing His love and sacrifice for all humanity. Communion is a time of remembrance, spiritual connection, and unity as we come together as the body of Christ.
At Northampton UMC, Communion is offered on the 3rd Sunday of every month, and everyone is invited to the Lord’s table.
